Mollie Crooks, Executive Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters said they recently started a page on Facebook called “Waiting Wednesday” to help publicize the children in the program looking for a mentor.

The kickoff event will be taking place February 22nd at the Barn Restaurant and Sports Bar from 6pm to 7pm. People will meet up to organize bowling teams and discuss ways to raise money for the bowling event this April.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters hosted its annual Appreciation Dinner at Bryan Place Aug 4.

Many were awarded for their efforts in the program this year. Kyle Shumaker and Jacklyn Krushensky took home Big Brother and Big Sister of the Year. Executive Director Mollie Crooks said they showed their commitment to children's well being to earn the title.

Big Bothers Big Sisters of Zanesville had a very special update for us.

Teams can still be formed for the Big Brothers Big Sisters annual Bowl for Kids Sake event.

Nearly 700 people are currently participating in the two month long fundraising effort. Executive Director, Mollie Crooks, said the organization's goal this year is $80,000, and that they are getting close to it. Big Brothers Big Sisters is hoping to roll a strike for its annual Bowl for Kids' Sake fundraiser

Last year the event raised $70,000, but this year the organization is aiming much higher.

January is National Mentoring Month, and Big Brothers Big Sisters is in need of volunteers.
