 The Ohio Department of Transportation's traffic website is reporting some road closures in our area due to high water. 

According to OHGo.com State Route 669 in Morgan County is closed near McConnelsville.

There's also a road closure in Coshocton County on State Route 715. The roadway there is closed between County Road 20 and the Village of Walhonding.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office says The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has found an erosion of the west bank of the Muskingum River on the McConnelsville-Malta Dam.

ODNR and a private contractor are working to shore up the river bank. Morgan County Road 2 is closed as a precautionary matter to allow workers to repair the embankment without delay. There appears to be no danger of a dam collapse.

 Ohio Department of Transportation Officials announce that  State Route 60 in Morgan County, just south of Vinegar Hill, is closed in both directions due to an accident.

Time of reopening is unknown.

Motorists can expect delays.

It’s a big day for a Morgan County Company.  Governor John Kasich was in McConnelsville for the announcement of an expansion by Miba Sinter. The company is located on State Route 60 North and is a manufacturer of auto parts. Officials from Miba were present to take part in the celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony. Governor Kasich says that the expansion of a company like this one, will bring McConnelsville jobs and the well being of families.

It started as a way to help a family in need, but after 10 years and many memories, the "Smitty Shootout" finally came to an end. WHIZ sports reporter J.T. The Morgan County Sheriff Office is reporting that at around 1:30 p.m. Friday Afternoon the Malta Branch of North Valley Bank was robbed. Deputies says the suspect entered the bank and demanded money.

The man was described as wearing a skull mask, blue jacket with a light stripe on the sleeve, blue jeans, dark shoes, and brown jersey goves. The suspect is about 6 feet tall and left the bank on foot.

The robbery remains under investigation.

An area man is dead after a one-vehicle crash in Morgan County early this morning.

According to the Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says around 9 a.m. 66-year-old, Gary Combs of Beverly, was northbound on Ohio 60 near mile post 3, when his vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
