US Route 40 near Hopewell will be closed until further notice, due to a two vehicle accident, just west of Mount Perry Road that occurred around 6:15 Saturday evening.
According to the reports from the police scanner, there are possible serious injuries. No other information is available at this time. WHIZ has a crew responding to scene and will bring you updates and they develop.
Plan to take another route for next several hours to avoid possible delays.
Two Thornville residents were killed Monday evening in a motorcycle crash.
According to the Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol, around 5 p.m. 65-year-old Gary Pugh and 66-year-old Ethel Pugh were traveling east on Pleasantville Road in Fairfield County.
Troopers say the Can-Am Spyder they were traveling on went off the right side of the road and overturned, ejecting both riders. The Pughs died at the scene. It is not clear at this time who was driving the vehicle....
One person is hospitalized following a motorcycle crash into the Downtown Motel in Coshocton late Saturday night.
The Sheriff's office says 45-year-old Michael Overly of Caldwell had been driving his motorcycle east on Main Street, drove off the right side of the road in the slight curve just east of 7th Street causing him to go onto the sidewalk and then crashing into the Downtown Motel.
Overly was taken by Medflight to Ohio State Medical Center.
A car versus motorcycle crash sends one person to the hospital.
Troopers with the Zanesville Post say around 8:30 Monday evening at the intersection of North Dietz Road and State Route 146, a motorcycle driving east on 146 collided with a black Honda Civic that was turning west onto 146.
The motorcyclist was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.
Trooper Eric Williams says this is the second crash the post has dealt with in just one day.
One man is sent to the hospital following a motorcycle crash on State Route 555.
It happened around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in front of the Lighthouse Inn in South Zanesville. According to Trooper Jeff Fowler with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist on a borrowed Harley Davidson crashed while traveling northbound.
"The motorcycle traveled left-of-center, lost control and the driver laid the bike down," says Fowler.
