Five local charities received checks from the proceeds of this year's souper bowl event. The five beneficiaries are: Eastside Community Ministry, Muskingum County Center for Seniors, The Salvation Army, Fellowship of Christ's Community and Christ's Table.

The annual event in October raised almost fifteen hundred dollars for the five charities. Divided by five, each organization received almost three thousand dollars and those funds can go a long way.

Muskingum County senior citizens could be affected by your vote come March.

The Senior Citizens Levy currently provides services to area seniors. Center for Seniors Executive Director Terry Dunn said the renewal of the levy on March 6th will ensure these quality services for those who need them.

As adults get older the creaks and kinks in bones and joints get more and more noticeable.

Monday at the Center for Seniors Dr. Steven Kimberly spoke about beating joint pain. The doctor said that keeping pain away starts with having a healthy lifestyle.

After successfully raising over 10,000 dollars from the Souper Bowl Luncheon Benefit held back in October, The Muskingum County Center For Seniors is now donating the proceeds to several area organizations.  They have been selected for their dedication to the community.
