The animal shelter is excited to announce their special cat adoption event.

This Saturday, the animal shelter will be having a "Free Cat Adoption Day." The first 30 people to come into the animal shelter to adopt a cat will be walking away with their new fur-friend, free of charge.

The Animal Shelter in Muskingum County is featuring its pet of the week, her name is Little Girl.

She is a sweet, 4 month old spaniel mix who is all puppy and has a ton of love to give. Little Girl has already had her surgery and would make a great addition to a family with kids. The Muskingum County Animal Shelter is hosting an adoption event this Saturday at We Love Pets in Zanesville. During the month of October, a certain type of cat will not be available for adoption at the Muskingum County Animal Shelter Society.

The Animal Shelter Society's largest fundraiser of the year is being deemed a success.

Executive Director, Jody Murray says it was a great evening with a generous community. The fundraiser on Saturday featured more than 100 items in a live auction and more than 200 items in a silent auction.

The Animal Shelter of Muskingum County is hosting a special sale on about 25 cats living at the shelter.

A local retirement community does its part to help animals this holiday season.

For the last month, Primrose Retirement Community has been collecting items for the Muskingum County Animal Shelter.
