Pet owners had the chance to capture their love for animals on film Saturday...

The Muskingum County Animal Shelter held a fundraiser for families to bring their pets and take a "family portrait".

"It's a 10 dollar cash donation, or one of the items from the wishlist. I'm also offering, anyone that does a full sponsorship on a pet, or an actual adoption, gets a free 8x10 print today," said photographer Dena Searls.

Puppy and kitten season is right around the corner, and soon some of the empty kennels in the Animal Shelter will be filled.

For pets the holidays can not only be a dangerous time but a stressful time as well.

An elementary class got a lesson is economics while donating to the animals shelter.

Third Graders of Adamsville Elementary School have been selling candy-grams to help raise money. Tuesday the class made a trip to purchase supplies needed by the Animal Shelter and then deliver the items.

In the hot summer months, the Muskingum County Animal Shelter wants to make sure yout pets stay safe.

As over crowding continues to be an issue for the local animal shelter, they are asking for your help to keep from turning to euthanization as a last resort.
