The Muskingum County Engineer plans to contact the prosecutor's office about an apparently abandoned coal road.

A portion of Church Hill Road that runs past the property of Bennett Woerner was once used by Oxford Coal now Westmoreland Coal to haul their product. 

This portion of the road has since been left in disuse and dead ends at Woerner's farm. Woerner would like to see the road either vacated or maintained.

During a luncheon today, the Ohio State Extension Office gave a progress report to the Muskingum County Commissioners.

Extension Educator, Mark Mechling, said the meeting provides extension officials with a platform to update the commissioners on the past year's work. Some of the items discussed included programs the office deals with in agriculture and other service projects. Mechling highlighted some of their upcoming plans.

House of Grace's Pastor, Joe Dunlap, is looking for ways to help people in the community.

Dunlap plans on opening a women's shelter to help get people off the streets when they fall on hard times. The Muskingum County Center for Seniors is getting closer to constructing a new building.

Terry Dunn and other representatives from the center along with architect Brian Addis met with the county commissioners Monday to present a contract for a construction manager.

An unfortunate accident for Linda Regula, the Democratic Candidate for Muskingum County Commissioner this weekend has her in the hospital.

Regula attended her granddaughter's wedding Saturday, and immediately following the ceremony, she was lining up for pictures in the church's basement when she didn't see a raised portion of the floor and fell to the ground breaking her hip.

A representative was there to talk about the Prescription Discount Card Program. Pro Act works with counties and municipalities across the nation to offer the program to area residents.
