An intense discussion about plans for a shelter house for Y-city Youth Baseball took place at Muskingum County Commissioners.

Advisor LT Kearns and Treasurer Mike Whiteman said that engineering estimates for a shelter house are running between $1,500-$2,000. It's money the youth league doesn't have.

They asked Commissioner Todd Sands to approach County Engineer Doug Davis to see if he'd draw up the plans. Davis said he'd do so, if commissioners gave their blessing.

The Muskingum County commissioners were supposed to be presented with multiple bids for road resurfacing in both Philo and Dresden Monday morning.

However, there was only one bid for Philo repairs and no bids for Dresden.

The Executive Director of Muskingum County Children's Services met with the County Commissioners Thursday afternoon.

The organization protects both children and adults in Muskingum County from neglect and abandonment. Dave Boyer says that the meeting was held for an important reason.

The Muskingum County Commissioners and Muskingum County Job and Family Services reached an agreement on rent rates this morning.

The two organizations share a building at 1830 East Pike. The building is owned by the commissioners, and Job and Family Services pays an annual rent to use it. But sharing a building is just one way the two work together. Job and Family Services receives funds from the county, but thanks to new, state funds they will need a little less this year.

Howard Stewart of the Southeast Area Transit District addressed the Muskingum County Commissioners Thursday afternoon. The meeting focused on renewing funds for 2015.

A flag created for Muskingum County by residents from Muskingum County is returning to the site where it was designed.

Public health officials and officials from Falls Township met with the Muskingum County Commissioners Monday to discuss a growing sewage problem for an area neighborhood.

The problem is occurring in a residential area of approximately 116 homes in Licking View. Members representing West Muskingum Schools met with the Muskingum County Commissioners Monday to discuss hooking the school's sewage into the county's sewer line.

The commissioners had made an offer to the school allowing them to tap into the county's sewer line for $350,000. The board approved a resolution at their last meeting to counter that offer with one of $300,000 saying the school simply doesn't have the money.
