Philip Phillips, an attorney representing Zane State College, met with the Muskingum County Commissioner's Thursday morning to discuss the annexing of about 6 1/2 acres of Falls Twp. land that is owned by the college. During two brief meetings on Monday, the Muskingum County Commissioner's received bids from Neff Paving and Shelly and Sands to start construction on a few roads in the county that are in "poor condition."

New software creates a way for Muskingum County to work more efficiently.

The County Auditor met with Commissioners to talk about new payroll and accounting software. Auditor Debra Nye said the hardware in their office is now 25 years or older. Muskingum County's Engineer met with commissioners to discuss ways to pay for roadwork within the county.

Through Ohio Public Works county engineer Doug Davis said they'll apply for grants to take care of some paving projects. Davis also wants the commissioners approval to apply for a zero percent interest loan for $500,000. The money would be used to buy materials to start work on area bridges.

At a meeting Thursday morning, the Muskingum County Commissioner's and the county treasurer agreed on Community Bank as the county's primary depository account.

The new construction and renovation of Genesis Healthcare at the Bethesda Campus will be a bit cheaper thanks to Muskingum County Commissioners
