If you're an education major in Muskingum County and are looking for a few extra bucks to go toward your education, there's some good news for you.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation is offering their Olaf and Olga Hanson Scholarship Program for education majors which will be awarded in the amount of 500 dollars to two recipients.

Artists in Muskingum County can apply for a grant to help them pursue their dreams.

Applications are being accepted for the Ronna Bucci and Dr. Charles Dietz Art Endowment Fund 2011 Artist's Award.  Educational consultant adviser Terry Kopchak said the $500 grant can be used to further the recipient's career as an artist.

Ohio University-Zanesville announced a major milestone in their efforts to build a new recreation center Tuesday.

Thanks to many donors, partners, and community members, the Muskingum County Community Foundation has exceeded their goal of raising 5 million dollars towards the new facility, half of what it will cost. The campaign kicked off mid November of last year with a big jump start.

The Muskingum Recreation Center is in the beginning stages and ideas on the design are needed.

The community is invited to meet with the design team at a public 'information and input' open house this Wednesday. The Muskingum County Community Foundation is celebrating 25 years.

It started in 1985 with nothing but a vision, and it's now grown financially with over $17 million invested in the community. Foundation President Richard Duncan says the community has really embraced its mission.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation is thanking a local artist.

Artist, Bob "Yabo" Wilson, decided to donate a piece of work to the foundation as  way of thanking foundation Director David Mitzle. The painting is of Trustee Member James McDonald. Wilson was diagnosed with Sarcoma in 2006. During treatment, Wilson had lost his left arm.

Apart from the camels, elephants, and snow cones, a local organization is bringing a special group to Armco park.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation is celebrating their 25th anniversary. So to raise awareness about what the group does, they invited the Carson and Barnes Circus.

One local group raised thousands of dollars and now they are giving it right back to the community.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation has raised $33,000 for their annual grant competition.
