Representatives from the Muskingum County Library met with County Commissioners to overview the final phase of the librarys strategic plan and request levy renewal.

Officials from the Muskingum County Library System were in attendance at a week long boot camp for library associates.

The Public Library Association met in Nashville, Tennessee to discuss the possibility of adding new programs and technology into existing library systems.

Funding cuts in the state budget will impact some local organizations.

The state's public libraries are expected to face around a 5 percent cut in funding which translates to a 155,000 dollar reduction in the Muskingum County Library Budget.

State agencies and public services may lose more funding if an Ohio bill does not pass.

The passage of House Bill 318 would delay a final round of planned income tax cuts and fill an $850 million shortfall in the Ohio budget.

The Muskingum County Library System is hoping that you'll show them how much they matter, by voting yes on their levy this November.

Over the last eight years the Library System has worked with a declining revenue, most recently budget cuts from the State of Ohio are causing an impact, making the levy necessary.
