The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office along with other agencies were out Friday in full force to try and make our community a bit safer.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says 8 arrest warrants were served Friday as a result of a culmination of investigations from 2009 until now. Most cases involved today were charges of trafficking crack cocaine as well as the cultivation of marijuana. Lutz says most people were cooperative with authorities.

The Mukskingum County Sheriff's Office is releasing the names of those involved in break-ins in both Perry and Muskingum Counties.

39-year-old Tammy Lewis, 21-year-old Austin Mooney and 24-year-old Robert Moore are all being charged with two fifth degree felony counts of breaking and entering, two misdemeanor counts of theft and one fifth degree count each of possession of criminal tools.

The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is bringing back an old resource to help enforce boating safety in the area.

It bought a boat back in 1986 and used grants to help pay off overtime for deputies to run it. Those grants eventually dried up and the sheriff's office lost touch with the boat.

Six people are in custody after a drug bust at a Muskingum County apartment complex.

It happened at 7300 Woodberry Drive, off the Maysville Pike.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says four male adults, one female adult, and one juvenile were escorted from the scene. Deputies recovered a firearm, some prescription pills, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

He says his office will be talking with the prosecutor to see if all six individuals will be charged. Their names will not be released...

The 921 pound marijuana seizure is the largest in Muskingum County's recent history. But what does the Sheriff's Department do with that amount of drugs?

Thanksgiving turkey and football seem to go hand in hand.

Saturday's Turkey Bowl had 12 local teams competing to play in the championship game tomorrow. The Turkey Bowl is put on by the Avondale Youth League and all the proceeds go toward it's Christmas Fund. The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is one of the teams. The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is actively looking for anyone responsible in the death of a Blue Rock Station llama, named Michelle, and the Warmke family says they have a reward in place for anyone with information surrounding the incident.
