One man is now being held in the Muskingum County Jail in connection with a home burglary that took place earlier this week.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said 29-year-old Chaise Michael King of Zanesville was taken into custody earlier last night.

King is being charged in connection with Tuesday nights home burglary on Old River Road where multiple men broke in, tied a woman up and committed theft. Also home at the time were young children.

Muskingum County Dispatchers got an earful this week as phone lines lit up with people expressing their discontent over the shooting of animals.

Sheriff Matt Lutz said dispatchers were overwhelmed by the number of calls coming in. Some calls included foul language and hatred. There were also a lot of emails.

Seven people are in custody Wednesday evening, after the Sheriff's Department conducted a search warrant and found crack cocaine.

A Zanesville man is facing charges in connection with what authorities are calling a "Rolling Meth Lab”.

Search crews continue to scour the Muskingum River after a man went missing who had been tubing with a group of friends Saturday afternoon.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said an investigation is underway after a toddler falls out of a second story window.

It happened around 8pm Tuesday night. A three year-old male fell out of an apartment window at 2926 Vista View Drive. Sheriff Lutz said the child fell nearly 11 feet before landing on concrete. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with only minor injuries.
