The Muskingum County Sheriff's office is investigating the drowning of a two year child from the Akron area. The incident happened at a camping site off of Stillwell Road in Muskingum County's Cass Township.

A 911 call came into the Sheriff's office at around 8 pm and crews responded to the area at that time. The Sheriff's office said that the investigation is still ongoing at this time, and the name of the family and the child are not being released. WHIZ will bring you up to date...

A robbery happened at the National Road Pump and Pantry on Greenwood Ave. Wednesday around 9 p.m. Deputies say the suspect entered the drive-thru on foot and confronted two female employees and then fled on foot. A K-9 unit tracked the suspect through a cemetery to Eastman St. towards Fox Ave. before losing the trail.

Over 200 people gathered at the Southwest Coshocton and Muskingum County Landowner's Association meeting earlier tonight. The monthly meeting was held at Tri-Valley High School in Dresden to discuss oil drilling and leases. Muskingum County Sheriff, Matt Lutz says the drug deal happened early this morning in Zanesville. Two Muskingum County residents were selling prescription drugs to four males who live in other counties and then attempted to rob them. The two Muskingum County residents were able to get money from them and then took off.

The Muskingum County Sheriff's office says that one man is in custody tonight. Captain Jeff LeCocq says deputies responded to an altercation between a male and a female after multiple 911 calls were received by dispatchers.

The county looks to demolish houses left vacant.

Fourteen properties within the county from Roseville to New Concord to Otsego are on the list to be demolished through the "Moving Ohio Forward Grant."
