The District meets with the Commissioners twice a year to give an update on expenses and plan what’s coming up for the next year. This year, the District received a $21,000 grant from the Muskingum Water Shed Conservancy District.

As the last commemoration event for The Great Flood of 1913, The Muskingum County Water Conservancy presented flood markers for five local establishments to mark how high the historic flood waters reached at the John McIntire Library Saturday afternoon.

"We've been part of the planning committee and one of the primary reasons is because the conservancy district was formed as a result of that Great Flood," said Darrin Lautenshleger of The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy.

Work begins on dams in the Muskingum Water Conservancy district.

The multi-tiered $600 million project will begin with dams in Dover and Bolivar, working its way to the Mohawk Dam in Coshocton County. It then will include some work at Dillon Dam in Muskingum County. It's a joint effort between the Army Corps of Engineers and the Conservancy District.
