Residents enjoyed the nice weather and helped raise money and awareness of autism for the city's annual walk at Zane Landing Park.

This is the fourth year for the walk which is put on by the National Autism Association of Southeast Ohio. In the state, autism is not covered by insurance which really hurts families dealing with the disease.

The annual 'Teed-Up for Autism' Golf Outing brought help to one local family.

It was 4 years ago when Krisa Rhodes learned her son had Autism. Since then, she has sought Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy for her son. She then discovered, Ohio insurance does not cover most treatments related to Autism.

According to the Centers for Disease Control 1 in every 150 children is born with autism.

Saturday morning, more than 200 people braved the chilly weather to walk in a 5k for the National Autism Association of Southeastern Ohio. Organizer Shannon Coconis says the mission of this walk is to let people know autism is a treatable disease. Also to raise money for the "Pieces Of The Puzzle" grant available January 1, 2010.
