 The Salvation Army Doughnut Day sale continued today at Riesbeck's Pick n' Save. The doughnuts cost just $3.99 and 10 percent of all proceeds will go toward the Salvation Army.

If you needed an excuse to eat something sweet we have the perfect reason.

Today is National Doughnut Day. The event was created by the Salvation Army in 1938 as a way to honor the women who served doughnuts and coffee to the soldiers during World War 1. Riesbeck's provides the Salvation Army with doughnuts and 10 percent of the proceeds goes back to the salvation army.
