With a cold bite in the air, it may be time to start running the furnace, and for people who are having trouble paying their electric bills, there is help available.

The Ohio Neighbor to Neighbor program is a partnership between American Electric Power and the dollar energy fund. It provides utility assistance grants to those who may be struggling.

For families who face difficulty in paying their monthly AEP utility bills, there is hope, and a way to keep afloat in a time where costs seem to be ever-rising. The program is called Neighbor to Neighbor and allows customers to add a dollar or two to their monthly bills to help their fellow Ohioans.

As the weather starts to turn cold, people will begin to reach into their pockets as heating bills arrive in the mailbox, and AEP Ohio wants to help those having trouble paying their heating bills, so people across the state in need won't be left out in the cold this year.


The Neighbor to Neighbor Ohio Utility Assistance Program officially started last may and has help over 55 hundred families with 1.5 million dollars in assistance.
