The Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra rehearsed for their opening concert at Muskingum University on Saturday.

Come this spring, one corner in the heart of New Concord, will have a brand new look, once The Community Commons is completed.

The Champion Cheer Central Regional Competition was held at John Glenn High School today. There were over 80 cheerleading, dance and all-star teams who competed in hopes of making it to the state level. Cambridge, West Muskingum, New Lexington, and Bishop Rosecrans were among some of the local teams that competed today.

The New Concord Water Department says all customers are under a boil advisory due to a water main break on Main Street.

They expect water service to be restored within a couple hours and all water should be boiled until further notice.

Columbia Gas is reporting Wednesday morning that almost all customers are back in service after a problem with a natural gas line Monday night in New Concord.

A spokesperson for the company said crews worked overnight to get service restored to the 150 customers affected. The only ones still offline are those that were not home or did not answer the door.

Crews are available to restore service to these handful of people once they contact Columbia Gas.

Around 150 Columbia Gas customers in New Concord have been without natural gas Tuesday following a problem with a pipeline late Monday night.

A Columbia Gas spokesperson says moisture got into the pipeline. The company has cleared the moisture, but now in order to restore service they must make access to every affected customer's home.

Due to a water main break, a boil advisory has been issued for the Village of New Concord.

Officials of  The Village of New Concord Water Department are currently working to repair the water main break. Residents north of Glenn School Road in New Concord are advised to boil their water.

The advisory will remain in effect until Thursday evening at 5:00 pm.

Water customers throughout the Village of New Concord may experience discolored water Tuesday. The New Concord water department will be flushing fire hydrants from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This means customers shouldn't do laundry until the water clears.

Officials had issued the alert on Tuesday due to a water main break.

Tests have confirmed the water is safe and residents may resume normal use.

A New Concord man is cashing in on a winning instant lottery game.

Jimmie Hines won $100,000 on the Ohio Lottery's Black Pearls scratch off game.

After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31%, Hines will receive a check for $69,000.

Hines purchased the winning ticket from Cambridge News & Carryout located at 527 Wheeling Avenue in Cambridge.

The retailer receives a $1,000 agent bonus for selling a top prize winning ticket.
