New Lexington, Ohio — Two New Lexington High School exchange students picked up more than just a new language during their almost year-long stay in the U.S.

Julius Rauhaus, 18, of Germany and Joachim Hodne, 17, of Norway are returning to Europe next month as successful three-sport athletes and will represent the Panthers on an international stage.

Hodne will take home the title of the Muskingum Valley League’s kicker of the year and an invitation to play...

The New Lex Panthers ended last season on a high note by upsetting Sheridan. This season, new head coach Dave Rupe - who has experience coaching in the MVL - is assigned with steering the Panthers in the right direction. JT Raymond has the story.

Since 2008, when the team made it to the state final four, New Lexington has struggled to find consistency.  In the three seasons since that magical playoff run, the Panthers are just 13-17.  But head coach Bill Nutt is excited about this team, feeling that they have the talent to challenge once again for the top spot in the MVL.

Rosecrans 1 - Philo 1

Rosecrans' winning streak came to an end after a 1-1 draw against Philo.  Both the Bishops (6-0-1) and Electrics (2-0-2) are still unbeaten on the year.  Philo jumped in front early and held onto its lead until late in the second half.  After a missed chance from Logan Lazar, Johnny MacLean finally broke through for the Bishops with five minutes to play in the match.
