The New Lexington Police Department is searching for a suspect in an armed robbery. 

According to the police department, the robbery occurred on the 400 block of West Broadway around 6:15 Sunday evening. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 20s, wearing a black hoodie and shorts. He was last seen running west bound towards Ridenou Auto Dealership.

The New Lexington Police Department warns village residents to lock up their vehicles. 

Authorities report patrol officers have taken reports on thefts from vehicles throughout the village.  Police encourage residents to secure valuables in your trunk and out of plain view.

They also say to keep your vehicles locked.

A New Lexington mother and father will spend the next several years in prison.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that both 23-year-old Mariah Keister and 33-year-old Matthew Skeens plead guilty to felony charges of felonious assault and endangering children. The two will serve a seven year sentence.

The New Lexington Police Department reports that they've located a man missing since September 3. 

Police said 62-year-old Stephen "Joe" Elekes of New Lexington was found in Lancaster and is now in a medical facility. Elekes walked away from his residence and officials said he suffers from depression and other medical issues, but was capable of walking long distances.

Authorities in the Village of New Lexington investigate a felonious assault that sends one to the hospital.

The incident took place Wednesday night in the area of Tile Plant Road and State Street.

New Lexington Police said the victim was transported to a hospital in Columbus.

The New Lexington Police department is investigating a gas station robbery.

According to authorities at around 10 a.m. Thursday morning an armed robbery occurred at the Certified gas station in the Village.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5-9 to 5-10 in height.

The State Highway Patrol said they'll hold an OVI checkpoint Friday in Perry County.

The checkpoint will take place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Friday July 26, on West Broadway Street between Madison Street and Clayton Street in the Village of New Lexington.

The State Patrol will be assisted by both the New Lexington Police Department and Sheriff's Office.

A lockdown has been lifted at New Lexington City Schools after an incident in the area earlier Tuesday.

Police said around 9:30a.m., a man filed a report against his grandson for assault and making verbal threats. The incident took place in the 700 block of Center Street in New Lexington.

Police said there were concerns of the suspect having access to firearms. Principal Bobby Dodd said the New Lexington High School, Middle School and Elementary School were placed on lockdown....

The New Lexington Police Department is investigating an early morning homicide.

Police Chief Scott Ervin says it happened at 400 Lincoln Park drive in the New Lexington Village Apartments. He says a 39-year-old New Lexington woman is the victim in this case.

Officials on the scene did confirm that the incident happened in apartment C3.
