Perry County Sheriff William Barker says a major drug trafficker has been indicted on multiple charges. The Sheriff says 40-year-old Jamie Myer of New Lexington was charged after a five month investigation that included the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force. Barker says the investigation centered on trafficking heroin throughout the greater New Lexington and Perry County area. The New Lexington wrestling team took part in the 2016 State Wrestling Team Duals this morning, facing the third best team in the nation; St. Paris Graham Local. The Panthers sturggled throughout the match, but heavyweight Matt Adams came away with the lone victory New Lexington. St. Paris Graham came away with the win 69-6, recording 9 pins.

It was an emotional day in Perry County, as patients and friends rallied around a beloved doctor.

Dozens of community members made a very public display of support for local physician, Dr. Jeffrey Haggenjos, who earlier this week was released from his position with Genesis HealthCare System. Haggenjos has practiced medicine in New Lexington for nearly 40 years. No official word was given for his termination, leaving his patients desperate for answers.

Doctor Jeffery Haggenjos has practiced medicine in New Lexington for decades.

His patient of 27 years, Jody Bowen, said "he's the heart of our community." She said "he's so much more than a doctor."

Dr. Haggenjos has built a trust with his patients on every level of their lives.

Tomorrow, New Lexington's own Dorothy Shriner turns 100 years old.

On Friday, friends and family members and even New Lexington's mayor gathered to celebrate the special day and one of her biggest gifts today, besides the key to the village, was being awarded her very own "Dorothy Shriner day".

 Dave Rupe's first season as head coach with the New Lexington Panthers had its fair share of shining moments, but this year the Panthers are hoping for a little more consistency. New Lex finished with a record of .500 last season, but Rupe is hopeful going into the 2015 season. Morgan Overbey has the story.
