 Two Habitat for Humanity homes are considered a total lost after two fires late last night.

Newark Assistant Fire Chief David Decker said emergency crews responded to a call just after 10 Saturday night. Decker said the fire started at 40 Parker Avenue when their next door neighbor, at 36 Parker Avenue noticed the porch had caught on fire and prompted everyone to get out of the houses. The Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest in connection with an aggravated robbery.

The Newark Division of Police said just after 5 p.m. Sunday Nov. 22 a 50-year-old man was walking on South 2nd St. by the railroad bridge when two men attacked him from behind. The victim suffered a significant injury to his face.

The Licking County Crime Stoppers are offering an up to  $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in connection with shots fired into a Newark home in October. 

The Newark Division of the Police reports that on Oct. 31, suspect(s) drove by a home on the 400 block of Woods Ave. at approximately 7 p.m. 

Four to eight shots were fired. There were four people in the home at the time of the shooting. No injuries were reported.

The Licking County Crime Stoppers are offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a burglary in Newark.

The Newark Division of Police reports that on Tuesday October 6th, two men entered an apartment on the 600 block of Glenbrook Drive and stole a revolver, a shotgun, a compound bow and an Xbox.

The suspects were described as a tall, black male dressed in all black with a yellow bandana and a white male, wearing shorts and a red hoodie.

The Newark Police Department is seeking the public's help locating a suspect following a shooting on Wednesday.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m. Newark police officers and detectives responded to the area of Webb Street near Washington Street in reference to the shooting. The victim was located near the intersection of Washington and South Cedar Streets, having walked to the residence of an acquaintance after the shooting.

 Everett Park, one Newark takes a lot of pride in, is excited to be offering some new amenities to the public.

If you love strawberries, then Newark may be the place for you this weekend.

The 32nd annual Newark Strawberry Festival kicked off today and has been a fun tradition for years. Goodies featuring strawberries will of course be the main attraction, including signature shortcakes and fresh berries dipped in chocolate.
