They only played one half of real football but the Zanesville starters got off to a fast start against a team many in the area think will have another deep successful playoff run. It took the Blue Devils just two plays to score their first touchdown against Tri-Valley enroute to a 17-14 win.

Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney continued his "Every Town Counts" tour with a stop in Newark Sunday afternoon.

The crowd in front of the Licking County Court House cheered while State Representative Jay Hottinger, State Senator Tim Schaffer and Newark Mayor Jeff Hall spoke. But the biggest cheer of all went up when Republican Senator Rob Portman welcomed Romney to the stage, kicking off his speech with a mention of President Obama.

Authorities in Newark are on the look out for a robbery suspect.

Police say a man walked into the Circle K on West Main Street  Monday and demanded money from the clerk.

He's described as being around 5'7" to 5'9" with dark colored hair and was wearing a hat with a faded white symbol and a black zip up jacket.

An area man remains in critical condition after an explosion and fire destroyed his house outside of Newark.

WHIZ Reporter Gabe Ross went to Licking County to find out more.

Just before midnight Sunday night, neighbors in this small community near Vanatta were awakened by a loud explosion.

This is all that remains of 36 Utah Avenue.

Fire Department officials are calling the house a total loss.
