Two people have been arrested in connection to a break in at a church in Newark.
According to the Licking County Sheriff's Office , 24-year-old Melissa Barton and 54-year-old Richard Hunt of Newark are in custody after admitting to breaking into the Marne United Methodist Church on Licking Valley Road on May 7th.
Authorities say the two also admitted to stealing a safe from the church that contained credit cards.

A knife fight on Newark's South Fifth Street sent one man to the hospital.
Newark Police Sergeant Dave Haren says the fight broke out around 2:50 a.m. Friday morning. He says it allegedy began after someone threw bricks or stones at a house. Around eight to twelve people saw the fight and two people were injured. One man was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital with a severe cut. Sergeant Haren says detectives are working the case, but no arrests have been made yet.
