 A new mural now greats visitors at the VFW hall in Newark.

Bob Steen and Sean Elliott have worked many hours to plan and bring this mural to life. Both men are veterans themselves and said that it means a lot to be able to honor other veterans with this mural.

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a break-in and theft in Newark.

The Newark Division of Police reports between July 19-20, suspect(s) broke into a garage in the 200 block of Forry Street and stole a number of items, including a Husqvarna chainsaw, a 12” circular saw, a grinder and a black wheelbarrow.

Two Newark women were sent to the hospital following an accident near the Y-Bridge Monday afternoon.

According to police, the accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when a Chevy Lumina that was heading toward the Y-Bridge on West Main Street went off the left side of the roadway, through a grass field at a high rate of speed, and crashed over the emankment of the river.  The vehicle flipped several times before coming to rest right beside the river.

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the theft and vandalism of business surveillance cameras in Newark.

The first two drives of the game looked anything but like an All Star game but after Travis Baldwin ripped off a 68 yard run for the game's first score in what proved to be the opening of the flood gates. For the second consecutive year the Licking County squad won against Muskingum Valley 36-20.
