The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced details on a sobriety checkpoint taking place in our area Friday night...

The patrol said the checkpoint will be held Friday from 9pm until 12am, on State Route 821in Noble County.

The checkpoint, funded by federal grants, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols, to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.

Noble County has just one roadway that remains closed this morning. State Route 146 is closed in both directions a mile and a half west of 821. All other roadways have reopened.

The body of a 21-year-old Caldwell woman has been found almost a mile away from a crash scene.

The Noble County Sheriff's Office received a call on Saturday about a one vehicle crash on T-Ridge Road in Olive Township.  A deputy searched for a driver, but couldn't find her.

The woman's mother told the sheriff's office that her daughter had not checked in with her, and that prompted an investigation.  Family and friends organized a search party for Sarah Langley.

In races of interest from Noble County Republican Stephen Bond defeats Bob Nau for County Commissioner 2,890 to 2,790.

Democrat Kelly Riddle becomes prosecuting attorney over Republican Robert Watson by over 2,000 votes.

An early morning shooting in Noble County leaves one woman dead and her husband facing charges.

It happened in Caldwell at a home on Miller Street just after 4 a.m.

In a press release issued early Monday morning, Noble County Sheriff Stephen Hannum stated he and a Sheriffs Deputy were called to the scene and found 22-year-old Tiffany Morrison lying on the floor and her husband, 24-year-old Jerad Morrison, lying next to her.

The results are in for the Noble County races.

The closest race in the county was for County Recorder (R). Juanita Matheney defeated Scott Wiley 59 to 41 percent. Marilyn Bond won against Karrie Walters for County Treasurer (D). No Republican in November filed.

Bob Nau defeated Walt McKee for County Commissioner (D). He will face Republican Steven Bond in November.

In the race for Caldwell Clerk /Treasurer, Samantha Ramage has won with 441votes.
 

Ronald Briggs and William Estadt were elected to the Caldwell Board of Trustees and in the Caldwell Village Council race, Jeff Minosky and Phillip Doan are the winners.

 A gas plant explosion that shut down Ohio Route 821 between Caldwell and Belle Valley in Noble County has re-opened as of approximately 1:30 Saturday afternoon according to the Noble County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office said the explosion at the disposal plant owned by Carper Well Service, Inc. of Reno, happened around 9:30 Saturday morning. No word yet on the cause.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
