An accident on the interestate is causing the Ohio Department of Transporation to restrict traffic. 

The accident has currently restricted Interstate 70 westbound to one lane near the Gratiot exit.

Crews are on the scene to clear the accident. Motorists should plan ahead for delays.

Part of interstate 70 will be slow going for motorists Tuesday.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said that Interstate 70 eastbound will be down to one lane, west of Zanesville at exit 152 for pavement repairs.

Those repairs will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

ODOT warns motorists may experience some delays.

The Ohio Department of Transportation met with Muskingum County Commissioners Thursday to discuss projects for 2013.

A small part of downtown Zanesville will soon be receiving a makeover.

Fifth Street will be seeing changes after the city received grants from the Ohio Department of Transportation and Public Works. The project is estimated at $ 1.8 million but the city only had to pay for a small portion of the work out of pocket. The Ohio Department of Transportation today released preliminary results from a safety study about Maple Avenue in Zanesville.

O-DOT says the three year study shows that the concrete medians installed in 2009 between Military Road and Country Club Drive have lead to a 47% decrease in crashes.

Ohio Department of Transportation crews are already out on our roadways trying to take care of the latest round of winter weather in our area.

Friday morning in Muskingum County 20 crews are out trying to clear roadways. Those numbers are similar in Perry, Guernsey and Coshocton Counties.

According to, moderate snow and ice is being reported on the roadways, so make sure to take it slow.

After such a mild season last winter, the City of Zanesville had an overage of salt and struggled with where to store this excess.

The city is required to buy 80% of the total bid amount that the city placed with the Ohio Department of Transportation the year before. Muskingum County can breath a sigh of relief when it comes to funding a local bridge project.

The county first believed that they would have to pay over $900,000 out of pocket to replace the Grant Cliff Bridge.

In a meeting Monday, with the Ohio Department of Transportation an agreement was reached where the county will pay up to $600,000 for the project.

Another storm is heading our way and ODOT trucks are ready to hit the roads.
