Twenty school districts across Southeastern and Eastern Ohio are receiving a 5 year grant from the Ohio Department of Education's Straight A Fund.

According to Noble Local Schools Superintendent, Dan Leffingwell, the $1.76 million grant will allow a cross-district consortium to analyze and optimize transportation efficiencies across the districts and create a projected savings of $4 million from the general fund.

Governor Kasich calls for extra school snow days as the cold weather continues.

Monday, Governor John Kasich urged the Ohio General Assembly and Ohio Department of Education to work together to provide a one time increase in the number of days that schools can take off because of snow and bad weather.

The new grading system replaces the former grading scale which gave schools written grades. The schools are now given letter grades different categories including achievement, progress, gap closing, graduation rate, literacy and preparedness.
