A Perry and Licking County veteran are among those being honored at a ceremony Friday in Columbus. 

It's part of the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor Inductions for going above and beyond the call of duty and performing heroically in combat situations.

A local Afghanistan War Veteran is being inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for his heroic actions in the Middle East.

Sergeant Mike Debolt, was awarded The Silver Star, a top honor given for bravery, and The Purple Heart, for third degree burns he sustained on September 4th, 2008. A fateful day, when the Humvee he was riding in, drove over two anti-tank mines and exploded.
