In the effort to maintain safe roads, local authorities will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Muskingum County this weekend.
The three hour long sobriety checkpoint was announced early Thursday by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Lt. Matt Boyd told us they're aiming to further educate the motoring public and bring awareness to the dangers of impaired drivers.

The Ohio State Patrol Troopers have charged 49 year old, Neil A. Morgan with operating under the influence for the 6th time. Morgan, a Lancaster resident was arrested on March 8, 2016 after being stopped for a speed violation on 33A and Wilson Lane.
Morgan was scheduled to appear in Fairfield County Municipal Court on March 9, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) -The Muskingum County Sheriffs office have publicly identified one of the two bodies found dead in a home just outside of Adamsville. The bodies of 77-year-old Carolyn Eileen Porter and a 64 year-old male, whose name is being withheld pending notification of his family, were found in a residence at 5180 West Road on Tuesday.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident that happened on State Route 146 near Zane State College Tuesday morning.
Trooper Joshua Weaver says that 20-year-old Matthew Sheets was driving a red Chevy westbound on state route 146 shortly before 11:00 a.m. this morning when he went left of center hitting 16-year-old Paige Roe. A woman suffered injuries after her car careened into an embankment on Linden Avenue at around 6:30 Thursday evening.
