The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the OVU checkpoint at Northpointe Drive has been successfully completed.

259 vehicles drove through the checkpoint Friday, 4 vehicles were diverted for sobriety testing including a vehicle which was emitting the odor of burnt marijuana.

In the effort to maintain safe roads, local authorities will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Muskingum County this weekend.

The three hour long sobriety checkpoint was announced early Thursday by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Lt. Matt Boyd told us they're aiming to further educate the motoring public and bring awareness to the dangers of impaired drivers.

 Ohio State Highway Patrol charges a Lancaster man with 6th OVI offense.

The Ohio State Patrol Troopers have charged 49 year old, Neil A. Morgan with operating under the influence for the 6th time. Morgan, a Lancaster resident was arrested on March 8, 2016 after being stopped for a speed violation on 33A and Wilson Lane.

Morgan was scheduled to appear in Fairfield County Municipal Court on March 9, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident that happened on State Route 146 near Zane State College Tuesday morning.

Trooper Joshua Weaver says that 20-year-old Matthew Sheets was driving a red Chevy westbound on state route 146 shortly before 11:00 a.m. this morning when he went left of center hitting 16-year-old Paige Roe. Roe tried to swerve to miss sheets car but was hit head on. Trooper Weaver says sheets could be looking at multiple charges.

A woman suffered injuries after her car careened into an embankment on Linden Avenue at around 6:30 Thursday evening.
