The MVL wrestling tournament has been postponed to tomorrow (Sunday) at 3:00 p.m.

All girls' high school basketball playoff games scheduled for today have been postponed. Here are the makeup dates in the order the games will be played:

Steubenville and Athens both won regional titles on Friday night, but the similarities end there.

The Big Red captured the regional crown for the 15th time by narrowly defeating Beechcroft, 29-21. Steubenville led by 22 at the half and hung on to advance to the state final four.

The Tri-Valley Scotties battle the Athens Bulldogs tonight at Sulsberger Memorial Stadium in Zanesville in the Division 3, Region 9 semifinals. The game is a rematch of last year's showdown in Logan that saw the Bulldogs escape with a 55-52 overtime victory.

Athens has scored 682 points in 11 games this season. Quarterback Joe Burrow has passed for 45 touchdowns while running back Trae Williams has rushed for 38 touchdowns.

The "Battle of the Panthers" is just two days away as 4-seeded Licking Valley is set to host 5-seeded Maysville at Randy Baughman Stadium. Unlike most playoff matchups, these two teams know a thing or two about one another.

Lane Dailey scored two goals and Logan McLaughlin and Tucker Zemba each found the net once as Bishop Rosecrans downed Zane Trace, 4-0, to advance to the regional final. This was the first regional win for the Bishops since 1996.

Rosecrans is set to take on Grandview Heights Saturday at noon at Bloom Carroll High School. The Bobcats edged Worthington Christian in a shootout to earn a 2-1 win.

The Rosecrans boys and girls both dominated on the soccer field today, winning their respective district titles by a combined score of 13-2. The Lady Bishops blanked Ironton St. Joseph, 7-0, behind four first-half goals while the Bishops downed Wheelersburg, 5-2, with Logan McLaughlin and Lane Dailey each netting a pair.

Football season hasn't even started yet and Zanesville has already suffered two losses.

The OHSAA has suspend one Zanesville student athlete for six games for violating a recruitment rule. The student transferred from Maysville to Zanesville during last school year and will serve a six game suspension for violating one of the OHSAA bylaws.

Zanesville is appealing the decision, and as a result the school has been fined 200 dollars and a coach has been suspended for one game. this...
