A twenty year tradition by two local organizations, to help keep kids warm during the winter months, is upon us again.

The Salvation Army and Olde Towne Cleaners are asking for jacket donations for their "Coats for Kids" annual program.

Young girls from around the area were able to shop for a free dress for their upcoming prom at the 5th annual "Once Upon a Prom" dress giveaway. The event was held at the Muskingum County Welcome Center and was sponsored by the East Side Community Ministry. There were over 600 dresses to choose from, all of which were donated by members of the community and by Jillian's. It'll be a warm winter for children around the area thanks to a local organization.

The Salvation Army is preparing for their coats for kids giveaway. Donated coats are being cleaned and sorted as the event nears.

The goal is to make sure children have a warm coat when the weather turns cold.
