The Ohio State University Alumni Association of Muskingum County is preparing for their 14th Annual Scholarship Auction at the VFW Post 1058 in Zanesville coming up on June 20.

The Associated Press is reporting that Ohio State Football Coach Jim Tressel has resigned as head football coach.

The University made the announcement Monday morning. Tressel said in a statement that he met with University officials and agreed that it is in Ohio State's best interest that he resign.

The school said Luke Fickell, an assistant head coach under Tressel, will serve as interim head coach for the 2011-2012 season.

A sea of scarlet and gray took over both Buffalo Wild Wings and the Barn early Saturday for the game most Ohio State Football fans look forward to all season long.

Ohio State alumni are helping future Buckeyes pursue their education.

Tonight at the 11th Annual Scholarship Auciton held by the OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County, local alumni got together to bid on buckeye memorabilia to raise money for scholarships.

The buckeyes made their 14th appearance today in the Rose Bowl and fans across the area packed local bars to cheer on them on.

Local bars were filled to the brim Saturday afternoon with devoted fans.
