Several area residents were recognized for their work throughout the communities in which they live at this year's Hometown Heroes Breakfast.
Bob and Kathy Werner became involved in Habitat for Humanity in 1997 on a whim. Their church had volunteered to help and Bob begged Kathy to join him. That even changed their lives. Together they now do everything from setting up excavation crews to framing the house.
Friday, the received the Guernsey County Hero Award.
