September is a month for celebrating the relationship between a child and their kinship care taker.

Kinship care takers are those aunts, grandparents, or other family members that foster a child who can't stay with their parents due to mental health, abuse, incarceration, or other issues. Volunteers helped set up for an annual event that gives school supplies away to area kindergartners.

This is the sixth year for Muskingum Families and Children First Kindergarten Back Pack and School Supplies Event. All of the supplies were donated by different agencies in the community and volunteers helped prepare for the big day on Saturday.
