Despite the lack of rain as of late... Ohio's apple producers say this year's apple crop is a good one.

Today we went to a local orchard owned by Terry Paul to get his take on the matter. Unlike last year his crop took a serious beating from some hail during the month of May but this year his apples are back and better than ever.

The brutal winter weather around the state could affect local farmer's fruit crops in the upcoming growing season.

The strange weather is becoming a nuisance to farmers.

Paul's Farm Market on State Route 60 is attracting a large crowd, but the owners are frustrated. The intense heat paired with the lack of rain has created problems.

Cold temperatures are becoming a pest for area farmers.

Terry Paul of Paul's Farm Market said the warm winter caused fruit to develop too early.  He said a recent string of chilly nights is putting his young apple crops in danger.

"According to the charts we have, when it gets down to 27 degrees, at least 10% of what's there gets zapped, and you can't continue to have this type of mornings," said Paul.

With the fall season here, there's no better time to sink your taste buds into a good crisp apple.
