ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) - For the first time in 12 years, the City of Zanesville has purchased two new trucks with 11 foot stainless steel beds. Mayor Jeff Tilton and Street Superintendent, Jeff Shook, say the purchase of the trucks is part of a larger project of revamping the city's equipment and making the street department more efficient.

On March 23rd the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested 45-year-old James C. Hanning for Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacturing of Methamphetamine. As part of the sting operation, Hanning was followed from Junction City to Buckeye Valley Road where he was stopped by sheriff’s deputies.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office releases the name of the man charged in connection to a meth bust this week.
According to the Sheriff's Office 28-year-old Gary C. Gardner Junior, of Roseville, was charged with one count of manufacturing methamphetamine with a juvenile specification. The charge is a felony of the first degree.
The Sheriff's Office said Gardner is set to appear before Judge Dean Wilson Friday, December 12 for a bond hearing.

Seven others have already been indicted in the case. According to the Perry County Sheriff's Office, the indictments announced Tuesday include 27-year-old Sierra A. King , 26-year-old Kayla A. Simon, 29-year-old Ricky L. Simon, and 54-year-old Harold L. Gardner, all of New Lexington. Also indicted was 39-year-old Matthew A. Webb of Newark.
