A methamphetamine lab was seized from a Somerset home where a 10-month-old child was living.

A meth lab has been seized from a Thornville home.

After receiving information that methamphetamine was being produced at 14876 Empire Road, detectives from the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force and deputies from the Perry County Sheriff's Office seized the meth lab from the residence on Saturday. The State Highway Patrol said they'll hold an OVI checkpoint Friday in Perry County.

The checkpoint will take place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Friday July 26, on West Broadway Street between Madison Street and Clayton Street in the Village of New Lexington.

Authorities in Perry County are investigating an apparent murder-suicide.
