The Perry County Sheriff's Office said they've identified three suspects involved in a fire at the former Bristol Schoolhouse.

In a press release Sgt. James McCall said that during an investigation of the schoolhouse on Marietta Road the State Fire Marshal and the Sheriff's investigators were able to rule out all accidental causes and found evidence that indicates the fire was intentionally set.

Ten Perry County residents faced a judge Monday morning after being arrested during a drug sweep.

The undercover operation nicknamed, "Spring Cleaning" began in April and led to the secret indictments of fifteen individuals for narcotic related offenses. Authorities in Perry County announce they'll hold a press conference Monday morning in regards to an ongoing investigation to arrest narcotics related offenders with-in Perry County.

The operation began at 4 a.m. Monday and involved law enforcement from Perry County, the New Lexington Police Department, the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force.

Authorities in Perry County say four people are in custody following a drug raid at a home in New Lexington.
 

The Perry County Sheriff's Office along with New Lexington Police and two other agencies executed a search warrant Tuesday at 530 Moxahala Street.
 

Detectives seized around 10 pounds of marijuana and a large amount of currency and firearms from the location.

Once again there has been a drug bust in Perry County.

According to the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force, agents executed a search warrant Thursday at 534 Harrison Street in New Lexington regarding drug activity at the home.

Authorities say they recovered marijuana and prescription pills and took two people into custody. The two suspects are being held on drug charges, but their names will not be released until formal charges are filed.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office said they've made three arrests in a New Straitsville drug bust.

Members of the Central Ohio Drug Task Force along with sheriff's deputies executed a search a 202 1/2 Clark Street in the village during an investigation involving the trafficking and transportation of heroin in front of children.

The names of the three arrested aren't being released until formal charges are filed.

A problem with Perry County's 911 phone system is fixed.

Sheriff William Barker said Sunday night calls being made from the Junction City area and all phone numbers beginning with 987 were not working properly.  Callers were having trouble hearing dispatchers.  The Sheriff says the phone company has now made repairs and the issue has been corrected.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office is experiencing trouble receiving 911 calls from the Junction City area and from all phone numbers beginning with 987.

If you dial 911 with a 987prefix in Junction City, you may not be able to hear the 911 operator. Your address and information will still be seen on the dispatcher's screen and emergency personnel will still respond but personnel may not know the nature of the emergency.

Deputies with the Perry County Sheriff's Office break up a meth lab Thursday.

Sergeant Kevin Starrett says his office along with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force and the Perry County Probation Department executed the warrant at 5475 Rushcreek Road in Somerset.

An active methamphetamine lab was found inside the residence along with three people.

Formal charges against the three will be filed at the conclusion of the investigation.

Those traveling on Township Hwy 79 at Buckeye Lake in Perry County made a shocking discovery Tuesday afternoon.

"I took the boat over here across the bay to take it out on the ramp and when I got out the boat, there were already two guys there. They told me to check this out, what they thought they thought was a body," says local resident Mark Bernhard.

Bernhard says at first sight, they weren't certain whether what they were looking at was really a body.
