A local couple is changing the lives for many residents of Perry County.

Dr. Steve and Terri Ulrich announced the creation of The Steve and Terri Ulrich Scholarship Fund for residents of Perry County who commit to serving the area as medical or mental health professionals.  Dr. Ulrich says their main purpose is to help the community of Perry County have the proper health care that they need.

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says it hopes to release more information Tuesday about a fatal accident over the weekend. A man in Glenford was killed after he was hit by a tree limb that he was sawing. Investigators say it happened Saturday afternoon around 12:30. The name of the victim has not yet been released.

Two Perry County residents are facing charges after authorities discover a large marijuana growing operation inside a Corning home.

Bridge construction will begin this Tuesday on a road in Perry County.

Crews from Shelly and Sands out of Zanesville will be working on State Route 668 at mile marker one. Drivers will not be able to access the road for 60 days, starting one mile south of Maxville through one mile north of the Perry-Hocking County line.

ODOT Public Information Officer, Kate Stickle, says the project is aimed at making the structure sound and safe for drivers to use.

Five people are taken into custody following a drug bust in Perry County.

It happened at 6749 Monroe Township Road 1008 in Corning yesterday.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office along with agents from the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force responded to the residence after receiving reports of trafficking in heroin.
