Perry County voters said yes to three levies on the ballot Tuesday.

The Reading Township/Park Expenses levy as well as the Thorn East Local Option and the Thorn West Local Option levies all passed.

Democrat Lonnie Wood Senior is the winner in the County Commissioner race.

He defeated Todd Shafer by about 125 votes. As of now, Wood will run unopposed in the November Election.

Perry County is highlighting some of its local artists.

40 vendors took part in the first Perry County Art Walk. There was something for everyone to enjoy, including photography, music, and artwork. Celebrity Chef Susie Cork of Lancaster attended and made a gourmet meal using local meat and produce. It was also the official kick-off of the Farmer's Market.

Officials in Perry County indict two residents after authorities discover a large marijuana growing operation in their home.

An investigation leads to the arrest of five Perry County residents.

Perry County Sheriff's Sergeant Kevin Starrett says Friday morning just minutes after 3 the Perry County Sheriff's Office along with the New Lexington and Crooksville Police Departments served two search warrants in New Lexington, one at 320 East Water Street the other 647 Center Street.

The warrants were a result of a three month investigation into the trafficking of heroin in the presence of juveniles....

Three people are arrested after a drug bust in Perry County.

According to the Perry County Sheriff's Office 45-year old Daniel Jacobs, 37-year old Dixie Owens and 43-year old Robert Carney all of New Lexington were arrested Friday after an investigation into the illegal trafficking of of morphine and marijuana.

The three are charged with various counts of trafficking in prescription drugs.

Deputies seized drugs, money and a vehicle as a result of the investigation....

The Southern Perry County Water District has lifted a boil order for all customers located in Millertown.

The area affected includes those living on Township Road 331 and Millertown Road.

Bond is set at $25,000 for a Perry County woman whose facing a 2nd degree felony charge of felonious assault.

38-year-old Sabra Hilliard is accused of shooting Bill Wilson at a home on Cimmaron Road in Mount Perry Saturday afternoon.
 

Sgt. John Russell with the Perry County Sheriff's Office says Hilliard and Wilson were involved in an altercation over money.

The Southern Perry County Water District has issued a boil advisory.

The area affected is in Pleasant Township on Biddison Street in Moxahala and the Moxahala end of County Road 11.

Officials say the boil order is due to a waterline break and will remain in effect until further notice.
