UPDATE: AEP is reporting that all power has been restored in the WHIZ viewing area.
Some residents in our area woke up without power Wednesday morning as heavy storms moved through the area on Tuesday.

AEP Ohio is reporting that 1,158 customers are currently without power in Muskingum County.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, a line of storms with winds reaching 50 mph made their way through the county, knocking down trees and power lines in numerous locations. AEP is working to restore power as soon as possible.
Strong winds blowing across the state knocked down utility lines, trees and disrupted power for thousands across Ohio.
Several cities around Ohio reported wind gusts that were above 50 miles per hour.

High winds Monday afternoon knocked out power in a portion of Muskingum County during the day. As of about 8PM, 626 AEP customers in Muskingum County were without any form of electric. City Hall was among the buildings effected by the lack of brightness. Flashlights were the light source of choice by Council Members as they proceeded with the meeting. On top of the snow to start our Monday morning some people are waking up without power. American Electric Power reports 4,620 customers are without service Monday morning.
AEP also reports that 489 customers are without service in Coshocton County.
American Electric Power says there is a problem with a transmission line at a sub-station in Newark. No word when service will be restored.
A Sunday power outage in Perry County is still causing problems Monday morning.
The Perry County Department of Job and Family Services said that the outage has disrupted their phone service. Officials said they are unsure of how long phone service will be down.
The office is still open and you can send e-mails, but no faxes.
Many customers of American Electric Power are waking up Thursday with no power.

In Licking County several American Electric Power customers found themselves in the dark to start Monday.
The company reported at one time 1,848 of its customers were without power.
Also in Coshocton County State Route 715 remains closed at State Route 206 in both directions between mile marker 6 and 6.4 due to flooding.
