The call for action at the Dresden Road and Taylor Street intersection continued Monday when one resident came forward at City Council.

Dresden Rd. resident Scott Bunting addressed the at least 15 accidents that he and his wife have witnessed in front of their home since they moved to 2401 Dresden Road in 2004, one crash costing $42,000 in home repairs after a Jeep Liberty struck the house going 50 mph.

The Zanesville Public Safety Director is calling for area men and women to consider law enforcement as a career.

Fred Buck said while a Civil Service test isn't been currently offered, their eligibility list is decreasing leaving local departments in need of new interested parties.

"It's a noble career in my opinion and I don't why we can't get more people to sign up but we definitely encourage them," said Buck.

The Crime and Violence Committee met at City Hall this afternoon to discuss what is being done to make the Zanesville community more safe.
