 Heath Police say they are still searching for a suspect involved in a purse snatching earlier Tuesday.  

The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Jacob Rey who just got out of of jail in July for an aggravated robbery conviction.  The purse snatching occurred in the Giant Eagle parking lot on Hebron Road around 11:00 a.m.  Police say the victim chased the suspect to try to recover her purse when the suspect drove away dragging the victim.  The victim was...

A Roseville woman is sentenced in a May purse snatching at the Wal-Mart on Maple Avenue.

Court records show that 23-year-old Rachael Penrod was sentenced to three years of community control for the incident that happened in May of this year.

She was also ordered to complete the Franklin County Community Service program, perform fifty hours of community service and pay restitution.

Penrod plead guilty in July to charges of robbery and three counts of theft.

 The Zanesville Police make an arrest in a purse snatching that took place at the Wal-mart on Maple Avenue. 

Captain Tony Coury said 22-year-old Rachel Penrod of Roseville turned herself into authorities. She was interviewed and placed in the city jail. She faces charges of robbery and three counts of theft. Her bond has been set for $60,000 cash. A court date will be set at a later time.

The Zanesville Police Department says an arrest has been made in connection with two recent purse snatching incidents that occurred in the parking lot of Kroger’s on Maple Avenue. Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says 33-year-old Nickolas Campbell of Zanesville pled guilty Wednesday morning to two counts of felony theft. Reports of purse snatching are increasing in Zanesville.

Zanesville Police Chief Eric Lambes said the most recent incidents have occurred at the Pick n' Save on Howard Street and Krogers on Maple Avenue.

"We're having a little bit of a spike on purse snatching, we don't see these all the time but there's been a few of them that have been in real close session which makes us wonder if they may be related, that we're not sure of at this time but we're certainly looking at that...
