Today, The Putnam Underground Railroad Education Center invited the Hands of Faith Church choir to the historic Woodlawn Avenue house to sing in celebration of Black History Month. The choir performed traditional gospel and spiritual songs.

This was the second event that the PURE Center planned in honor of Black History Month. They hosted the 13th Annual Lincoln Luncheon at Zane State College on Friday.

The Putnam Underground Railroad Education Center held its annual open house and membership drive Sunday.

The P.U.R.E. Center is focused on teaching the community about the role Zanesville played in the abolition movement.

Members of the Putnam Underground Railroad Education Center will be unveiling a new sculpture that was composed by a local artist at its Lincoln Luncheon this Friday.

WHIZ was able to get a peek of it, which captures Sojourner Truth's features.
