A prominent republican made his way into the Y-City.

GOP Chairman Michael Steele stopped by the Republican Headquarters in downtown Zanesville Tuesday evening as a part of his 'Fire Pelosi' bus tour, which is traveling to 48 states. Steele is encouraging Ohio voters to elect republican leaders.

"I think we have kind of put down a few markers for the public to sort of sense what this new republican leadership is going to bring to the table," said the GOP Chairman.

The annual Guernsey County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner had a special guest Wednesday night.

Republican gubernatorial candidate, John Kasich, stopped by the Prichard Laughlin Civic Center in Cambridge to host his own fundraiser and attend the Lincoln Day Dinner. Kasich says he believes the current government has been mismanaged and wants to see the budget cleaned up.

Republican Gubernatorial Candidate, John Kasich, met with locals in New Lexington Saturday afternoon.

He took questions from the audience and listened to their concerns. Kasich has served in Congress for 18 years and after a ten year break, he is getting back into the political scene.

In 1920 the 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote.

Today, women and men gathered for a 'Rally In The Alley' at Bryan's Place on 6th Street in Zanesville. The event is sponsored by the Muskingum County Women's Republican Club and has one simple goal.

"To support our candidates, that is what it is all about... to give support to these folks. It is very expensive and very time consuming, it takes a great abundance of energy for these folks to run for office...
