A motorcyclist was transported to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being struck from behind by a utility truck.

Lt. Bill Shaw with the Zanesville Police Department said the motorcycle rider was heading northbound on Brighton Boulevard around 2:00 p.m. when he stopped at a red traffic light at the intersection of Ridge Avenue. Members of the Zanesville Crime and Violence Committee met Wednesday night to talk about current problems facing the city.

When Cindi Peddicord moved into her Ridge Avenue home a little less than a year ago she says she had no idea that the neighborhood came with one major issue. Prostitution.

Thursday evening, a seven-year- old boy was struck by a car while trick or treating.

The Zanesville Police Department reports that at approximately 6:30 p.m. a young boy darted into the middle of the street near the intersection of Ridge and Schaum Avenue, where he was hit by a red vehicle traveling on the road. A neighbor says she witnessed the incident first hand and says she saw the boy get flung across the street.

The victim of a weekend shooting is speaking out, now that police say the gunman is behind bars.

Detective Ric Roush said 21 year-old Roberto Brooks of Zanesville was taken into custody shortly after 1:30 Saturday afternoon- that's when officers arrived to the scene of Ridge and Schaum Avenues after a report of shots fired.

Zanesville Police investigate a report of shots fired Tuesday afternoon.

Around 12:30pm police were called to the corner of Ridge and Schaum Avenues after a report came in of shots fired. One witness at the scene describes what he saw as he entered R&K Drive-Thru

A Zanesville family is homeless following an afternoon fire at an apartment complex.

It happened around 4:45, at 1112 Ridge Avenue just behind the Barnett's Fellowship Thrift Store. According to Zanesville Assistant Fire Chief Dave Huey the fire appears to have began in the kitchen area of apartment number five.

Huey says the apartment and its contents were destroyed. The homeowners were not home when the fire broke out.

Other apartments do not appear to have damage at this...
