A joint food drive by the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol and New Concord Police Department surpasses the goal for the event. 

The agencies had hoped to collect 200 pounds of food at last week's event. However, State Patrol Sgt. Melanie Appleman, said the drive brought in more than 1300 pounds in addition to cash donations.

This Friday the Salvation Army is hosting its first summer picnic at Riesbeck's grocery store on Howard St.

Guests and shoppers can expect hotdogs, music, facepainting and pictures with their new mascot "Captain Care". Envoy at the salvation army, George Bates, says the army is always trying to help people by raising money for the church.

Thursday, Riesbeck's in South Zanesville invites the community to celebrate summer with its fun summer safety event.

Folks can come out and learn how to stay safe and still have fun in the sun. Riesbeck's Pharmacy, Genesis Healthcare System, Muskingum County Safe Community Coalition, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department, and Muskingum County Sheriff's Office are all taking part in the event.

One local organization is stepping up to help moms in need.

Riesbeck's in South Zanesville is holding its 6th annual Community Baby Shower this Friday to benefit Operation Feed's Special Needs Pantry. Customers interested in donating to the cause can purchase items in store, outside on the tables, or the provided "grab bags" full of baby items. There will also be food and activities for those in attendance.

Riesbeck's held its annual Operation Feed Spring Food Drive Friday.

This event of giving has been going on for three years now and helps out the local hunger networks. Executive Director of Christ's Table, Keely Warden, said she is always grateful to see the support.

The Lenten season is right around the corner, and Riesbeck's is rolling out a traditional favorite.

Paczki's (punch-keys) are now being sold at area stores. They are hand made at the the store starting anywhere between 1AM and 3AM to keep up with the demand. We asked Bakery Director John Chickery to tell us about the process.

Whether you're ringing in the New Year at home on the couch, or out at a local bar, everyone will be celebrating the beginning of 2015 tonight.

We wanted to know what exactly your New Years plans were, so we stopped by Riesbeck's grocery store to find out.

She usually stays at the North Pole to bake all the cookies, but starting Saturday Mrs. Claus will be visiting Riesbeck's stores across the area.

Riesbeck's has gotten Mrs. Claus to come back for a second year to decorate Christmas tree cookies with kids of all ages. We spoke with Mrs. Claus herself Tuesday. She said it's good to get out of her kitchen and come help decorate with the kids.

Thanksgiving is just a day away, and many shoppers were out and about buying last minute dinner items.

 We made a visit to Riesbeck's Grocery Store on Howard Street this afternoon. There is often a stigma of stress and cooking catastrophes attached to waiting to prepare the big meal at the last second. This Saturday, the 27th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Riesbeck's in South Zanesville is taking part in the DEA Drug Take-Back event.

Any unused, expired or unnecessary pills that are in your home can be brought to the pharmacy for proper disposal. According to Jane Dombroski, Store Event Coordinator for Riesbeck's, this event allows potentially dangerous medications to be removed from the community.
