East Liverpool 60 Zanesville 56

The young, unproven Blue Devils hit a stumbling block right out of the gate to start the 2011-12 season. A rash of turnovers and a lack of defensive prowess allowed the Potters to take a second half lead and never look back. Zanesville led by two points at haftime, but surrendered the lead to the Potters int he third quarter, and never regained it. H.S. Boys Basketball:

Cambridge 83 Maysville 77 OT

What a way to open the boys basketball season. In a game that was thought to be a low posession, grind-it-out type affair, it proved to be anything but in Southtown tonight. The Maysville Panthers were determined tog et the ball up and down the floor, as Head Coach Todd Whiteman channeled his inner Paul Westhead. Cambridge was up for the challenge though, as coach Mike Andrews' bunch...

Girls Basketball

Zanesville 56 West Muskingum 42

After four years away from the sidelines, Coach Jeff Moore decided to un-retire the whistle and coach the girls basketball team at Zanesville High School. Coaching girls for the first time, Moore was out to prove it didn't matter the gender; just give him a clipboard and basketball is basketball. In his case, he also needed a throat lozenge.

In his debut, Jeff Moore  was back to his...

H.S. Girls Volleyball:

Division III District Final at West Musknigum:

West Muskingum: 2 Lynchburg Clay: 1 PK

On a sloppy track scoring was at a premium but West Muskingum found a way to notch a talley late to tie the Lady Mustangs and force the game into penelty kicks. Once in PK's it was some missed opportunities that cost the Lady Mustangs a chance to win, but it was freshman Cameron Smith who capitalized on...

It took awhile but after winnig game one over the vsiting Lady Muskies, West Muskingum was able to set up a show down with Tri-Valley for the out right league title and managed to stay perfect in the process. Dylana McKenzie was her usual force at the net racking up 16 kills all while her twin sister Dakota sat out with an ankle injury. Rosecrans 2 - Coshocton 7

At first, this pivotal ECOL matchup appeared to be close.  A goal ten minutes into the contest by Coshocton senior Lucas Dunlap put the Redskins in front, but it didn't last long.

Rosecrans' Logan Lazar responded with a goal 30 seconds later, but the Bishops were unable to keep up with Coshocton's pressure in a 7-2 loss.

Dunlap followed his initial score with two others, both in the...
